Pack Smart
Protect your mini drone during travel with these steps

A ₹20,000 mini drone can be damaged by improper packing, costing you ₹5,000 in repairs.
Start with a sturdy case
It's worth the ₹2,000 investment. Look for one specifically designed for mini drones under 250g, like those sold at Mini Drone Shop in Hyderabad.
Remove the props before packing
A simple step that can save you ₹1,000 in replacement costs. Props snap and bend easily if anything presses against them in a bag.
Wrap each component separately
Wrap the drone body, props, and gimbal in bubble wrap or foam for extra protection. Never let two hard components touch each other directly.

Place components in the case securely
Make sure nothing can shift during transit. Shake the closed case gently - if anything moves inside, add more padding.
Fill all empty spaces
Cloth, foam offcuts, or crumpled paper all work. Empty space is how things break in checked luggage.
Check the weight before sealing
A case that is too heavy will get checked - and checked luggage takes far more abuse than carry-on. This matters especially when flying out of Indian airports like Mumbai or Delhi.
Consider shipping for longer trips
Courier services can be a better option for expensive drones on long trips. You avoid security checks and the chaos of baggage carousels.
Know the rules before you travel
Under India's UAS Rules 2021, mini drones under 250g do not require DGCA registration, but airlines have their own battery rules - always check before you fly.
Packing your drone correctly takes five extra minutes and can save you ₹5,000 in repairs or the full cost of a replacement.
